U.S. stock futures remained stable as Wall Street found some reassurance in signs that President Donald Trump may offer flexibility ahead of the next major tariff deadline.

Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average were unchanged, while those linked to the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite edged up by 0.1%. Stocks have been on an upward trend since Trump hinted on Friday—and reiterated on Monday—that he might be open to adjustments or exemptions on reciprocal tariffs set to take effect on April 2.

Despite recent gains, the market remains cautious following previous sharp declines triggered by Trump’s aggressive tariff stance. Earlier this month, threats of new levies against the EU and Canada contributed to a sell-off that pushed the S&P 500 into correction territory.

Key Earnings and Economic Data Ahead

This week, Dollar Tree is set to report earnings on Wednesday, followed by Lululemon on Thursday. Retailers have been particularly sensitive to tariff concerns, with some companies lowering forecasts and warning about supply chain disruptions.

On Friday, investors will closely watch the release of February’s Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Index, a key inflation gauge. The data could offer insights into whether the Federal Reserve will proceed with its anticipated interest rate cuts this year.
