Eightcap: Account Types and Fees
The Standard Account and the Raw Account are the two account kinds available. The former provides commission-free trading with broader spreads, whilst the latter charges a tiny commission cost with narrower spreads. Accounts can be opened in USD, AUD, EUR, CAD, SGD, NZD, or GBP for both types of accounts.
In terms of leverage, Australian clients are offered a maximum leverage of 30:1 while non-Australian clients have a maximum leverage of 500:1. Upon creating an account on MT4 or MT5, the leverage can already be set by the user.
Standard Account. The Standard Account offers commission-free trading at variable spreads, the average being around 1 pip on major pairs. The minimum trade size on this account is 0.01. and the minimum deposit for opening a Standard Account is 100 USD.
Raw Account. The Raw Account has a 3.5 USD per trade cost but offers tight spreads starting at 0.0 pips. Apart from that, the Raw Account is identical to the Standard Account in terms of minimum trade size and deposit.
Australian and Non-Australian clients can create both account types which are also covered by Eightcap’s client money protection. To prevent fraud, clients’ funds are segregated.
Raw Account spreads are variable and start at 0 pips for Forex and Commodities trading while trading indices starts with a 0.5 pip spread. For share CFDs, Raw Accounts have spreads starting at 1 pip while the average spread for Bitcoin and Ethereum are 12 USD and 0.45 USD, respectively.
Swap Rates
Another potential fee in forex trading with Eightcap is the swap rate or rollover rate. The swap rate is charged after leaving a position open until the next trading day while keeping the position open from Wednesday to Thursday has the swap rate charged for three days to cover the held position over the weekend.
On the MT4 and MT5 trading portals, the latest swap rates may be viewed in the Market Watch panel. The long and short swap rates will be displayed on the platform’s ‘Specification’ panel, depending on the instrument selected.
Eightcap: Open an Account
Here are the steps you need to follow to open an Eightcap trading account:
- Register an Account – Click on ‘Create an Account’ on the Eightcap website and fill in the application form including your email and password.
- Verify Your Identity – After that, you’ll need to create a live account, which will need you to upload a valid photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license, as well as evidence of address, such as a bank statement.
- Fund Your Account – After your account has been fully verified, you may now fund your account to start trading. The minimum deposit for both the Raw and Standard account is $100. Use PayPal, a bank transfer, a wire transfer, or any of the other payment options provided.
