Thailand’s main commercial bank and eligible financial associate with Ripple, SCB has disclosed that through the LINE app, people have found a way to undermine client funds and details.
The scammers have found a way to hack the app, to access client information, as per an official bank statement. As the SCB utilizes LINE to stay in contact with clients and partners, it has started to be used by dishonest people and quite a few frauds are popping up.
The scammers typically build false SCB client service identities on the app and also use it to get in touch with unsuspecting victims. Then certain fraudsters continue to deliver all sorts of financial services deals to the clients, saying they ‘re official bank deals. Active customers are then requested to verify their authenticity by extracting other personal info along with their ATM and mobile banking pins and their birth dates.
The bank also provided ways for customers to detect a fraudster. Those fake profiles just don’t have a blue or green shield symbol before their user names, as per the SCB.
A lot of such profiles use amateurish phrases and even misspell a lot of the terms. The bank suggests that such accounts be blocked by all clients.

The bank now wants to include an app that lets tourists pay for products and services without the hassle of first switching currencies.
