COVID-19 $2.5 Million Aid Offered by BitMEX to Organizations

BitMEX exchange is the new crypto-centered firm to give to different organizations supporting COVID-19 humanitarian efforts. HDR Global Trading Limited, the exchange provider, disclosed the offer in a release on April 20, 2020.

According to the release, HDR Global Trading has launched its COVID-19 Response Fund and will contribute $2.5 million to the worldwide battle of the novel coronavirus.

The organization reports that COVID-19 is “an absurd situation” that demands worldwide endeavors. It, however, notes that “enterprises have a crucial part to play in measures to reduce the disease progression, minimize its damage and save health, and we are eager to assist wherever we can.”

The $2.5 million offer will be contributed to four organizations: The Nuclear Initiative, Dr. Beth Cameroon, the two Gates Philanthropy Partners COVID-19 Funds, Our World in Data and OpenMined.

Talking on this change, HDR Global Trading Limited’s BitMEX CEO and co-founder said: “We are committed to careful granting and ensuring that our decisions during the COVID-19 crisis will have the greatest effect now and in the future. Therefore, we have agreed to make grants totaling US$ 2.5 million to four organizations that make a significant difference in combating COVID-19 and reducing devastating biological risks worldwide.

Crypto Firms Remarkable Aids
The battle against coronavirus requires a worldwide effort on the part of everybody else. While researchers desperately search for a coronavirus vaccine, crypto firms are contributing through fundraising.

“Tactically structured resources would help bridge the gap in the massive response and immediately enable excellently-equipped also under-resourced organizations” per BitMEX.

Many crypto-industry firms have contributed to help counter coronavirus. The situation, for instance, Binance committed $1 million through its initiative #CryptoAgainstCovid. Also, Ripple contributed $200,000 to two recipients.

The Stellar Development Foundation pledged earlier this month to contribute a total of 1.9 million in XLM to six non-profit organizations to aid in the war against coronaviruses.
