Terra Classic, the once-prominent blockchain network that faced a catastrophic setback when its UST stablecoin lost its dollar peg in May 2022, is gearing up for a game-changing network upgrade. Scheduled to occur later today at the Terra Classic block height of 12,902,400, this eagerly anticipated upgrade aims to implement Proposal 11515, better known as the Proposal to Increase Burn Tax.

The Terra Classic community has banded together and put forth a proposal that seeks to raise the burn tax rate from its current 0.2% to an ambitious 0.5%. Binance and Kucoin Pledge Support for the Terra Classic Upgrade

In a resounding show of support, leading cryptocurrency exchanges Binance and Kucoin have already pledged their full support for the upgrade. Binance, one of the industry giants, has proactively announced that it will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals for LUNC and USTC via the Terra Classic network starting at 9:30 p.m. (UTC) today.

This precautionary measure is aimed at ensuring a seamless transition during the implementation of the proposed changes, minimizing disruptions, and maximizing the chances of a successful upgrade.
