Ethereum’s (ETH) price holds above the moving average lines as it declines from the $2,700 mark. The bears pushed the price lower after it fell below the 21-day SMA support. The bullish trend has increased to a high of $2,668. Ether has been repulsed every time it has approached the $2,700 resistance. However, if purchasers break the $2,700 barrier, Ether will rise above the $2,800 level.

The positive momentum will continue up to $3,400. However, if the altcoin turns down from the $2,700 threshold, Ether will resume its range-bound movement between $2,400 and the $2,700 high. Today’s bullish momentum has stalled below the $2,700 high.

ETH Technical Indicators Reading

The price bars for Ether are above the moving average lines as the largest altcoin begins its bullish momentum. There are long candlestick wicks pointing at the $2,700 barrier. These candlestick wicks imply significant selling pressure at the $2,700 top. The price action is characterized by petite, indecisive candlesticks known as Doji.

Conclusion  

Ethereum continues its sideways movement as it declines from the $2,700 mark. On the 4-hour chart, the bullish momentum has stalled below the $2,700 level. The inference is that Ether will continue to fluctuate in a range below $2,700. However, a breach of the resistance will send the altcoin soaring to a high of $2,850. Ether will then keep increasing and hit a peak of $3,400.
