Ripple’s Legal Victory Sparks $10K XRP Debate—Can It Really Happen?

Ripple’s years-long standoff with the SEC is finally drawing to a close, and the crypto community is already looking to the sky—or maybe the moon. With the company dropping its cross-appeal, CEO Brad Garlinghouse made it clear: “We’re closing this chapter once and for all.” XRP reacted swiftly, jumping 5% to $2.20. But price movements aside, the bigger noise is coming from believers asking the wildest question of all: Could XRP reach $10,000?

The $10K XRP Dream: Belief or Fantasy?

The idea of XRP hitting $10K isn’t new, but it’s made a roaring comeback. Some influencers like Jake Gagain have tossed out more moderate projections, estimating XRP could hit $106.50 if it surges 50x—a scenario Carl Moon speculated on. Others aren’t so conservative. Casi Trades declared: “If you think XRP can’t reach double digits, you don’t understand crypto!” Lucy Bear even dismissed those numbers as “too safe.”

But the $10K prophecy has deeper roots. According to long-time followers, Ripple co-founder and XRP Ledger creator Arthur Britto envisioned XRP becoming the global liquidity bridge—something that, in theory, would require it to be priced at $10,000 per coin. Whether this quote is apocryphal or real hardly matters now. For much of the XRP Army, it’s gospel.

Even those outside the fanbase are intrigued. On The Rollup podcast, former NEAR engineer Altan Tutar likened the $10K belief to a crypto cult. “I’ve never seen anything like this in any other community,” he said, noting the similarities between XRP’s faith-driven holders and Bitcoin’s early adopters. His rhetorical question: “If Bitcoin can hit $100K, why not XRP at $10K?”

A Hard Reality Check

There’s just one massive obstacle: math. A $10,000 price tag would mean a $590 trillion market cap—more than five times the value of the global economy. Even the more “reasonable” $106 estimate implies a valuation of $6.28 trillion, outpacing Bitcoin’s all-time high by more than double.

That’s why many analysts are calling for a reality check. Andy, host of The Rollup, said it bluntly: “XRP is not going to $10,000… $10 is already a stretch.” Still, in a space where meme coins and parabolic rallies often defy logic, the $10K dream refuses to die quietly. Whether fantasy or future, the debate is far from over.
