Ripple’s XRP has struggled to regain momentum after nearly reaching an all-time high (ATH) in January. With the price dropping by 35% since then, analysts are now turning to market sentiment and macro events that could reignite a bullish push.

Shifting Market Sentiment and Political Tailwinds

The early 2025 market dip, which rattled the broader crypto space, has given way to renewed optimism as Bitcoin approaches the $100,000 threshold. According to Santiment, the growing greed among altcoin traders is breathing life back into assets like XRP.

XRP previously surged from $0.60 to $3.40 between November and January, buoyed by hopes of a favorable SEC outcome and fresh U.S. leadership post-election. However, even after Ripple’s CEO announced the legal battle had been settled, it failed to maintain its highs. The token now trades just below the level it held before that announcement.

Spot XRP ETF Speculation Keeps Bulls in Play

While discussion volume around the token has dipped compared to other leading altcoins, Santiment notes that bullish voices are growing louder. The community is now looking ahead to the potential launch of a spot XRP ETF in the U.S., especially following the approval of futures-based XRP ETFs earlier this year.

Although the SEC recently postponed a decision on Franklin Templeton’s application, anticipation remains high that a spot product could be approved by summer. If realized, it could provide the catalyst the token needs to finally breach its long-standing ATH and push toward new highs.
