Litecoin’s (LTC) price has plummeted but faces a $120 hurdle. Buyers are hoping to push the altcoin to its prior highs of $140 and $147. The cryptocurrency price has retraced and is now just above its low of $118. When the altcoin breaks above $120, it will rise to a high of $140. On the downside, Litecoin is retracing down to the 21-day SMA support. There will be a risk to cryptocurrency assets if the bears break through the 21-day SMA support.

A break below the 21-day SMA support will continue the negative momentum to the low of the 50-day SMA support, which is $98. The bulls bought the dips even though Litecoin had already dropped below the 21-day SMA support. The price of LTC is still above the moving average lines in the interim. The altcoin is now selling at $118.

The 21-day SMA has surpassed the 50-day SMA, and the LTC price bars are above the moving average lines. The altcoin will rise if it remains above the 21-day SMA support. On the 4-hour chart, the altcoin’s price is rising while remaining above the moving averages.

Litecoin is striving to maintain its positive trend, but faces a $120 hurdle. Litecoin rose to a peak of $128 on the 4-hour chart, but then dropped below $120.
