The Ethereum (ETH) price is trading above the $3,800 support as buyers approach the hurdle of $3,960. The largest altcoin is being rejected at the $4,000 overhead resistance. In prior price activity, bears have defended the $3,700 to $4,080 price range.
On the upside, if the bulls conquer the $4,084 resistance level, Ether will surge to a high of $4,864. Currently, Ether is trading above the $3,800 support level. The altcoin will fall if the bears break below the $3,800 support level. The cryptocurrency will plummet to a low of $3,400.In the meantime, the altcoin is currently valued at $3,881.

Ether is in a mild retracement, with price bars remaining above the moving average lines. Following the current price rebound, the downward moving average lines have shifted upward. On May 23, the candlestick features a long wick and a long tail. This shows that bulls and bears were in a price battle before the price closed at $3,787.
