Tron (TRX) Hits Record Monthly Transfer Volume in May 2025

Tron’s native token, TRX, reached a new milestone in May 2025, setting an all-time high in monthly transfer volume amid strong network usage and rising investor confidence.

According to data from CryptoQuant, a total of 490.3 billion TRX changed hands last month, valued at approximately $132.4 billion based on the current price of $0.27. This represents a notable surge from April’s 362.92 billion TRX, marking a month-over-month increase of roughly 34%.

Boost in Tron Network Engagement

The spike in transaction volume underscores growing activity on the Tron blockchain, with CryptoQuant noting increased user participation and sustained demand for the network’s services. TRX also held up well in May, benefiting from robust on-chain metrics and a relatively low-risk profile, which attracted consistent capital inflows.

Despite facing some short-term selling pressure due to wider market uncertainty and geopolitical developments, which temporarily pushed its price down to $0.257, TRX has bounced back and is currently trading near $0.27.

Notably, Tron overtook Cardano to become the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, climbing to nearly $26 billion, while Cardano’s valuation dipped to around $23 billion.

Tron Leads Stablecoin Transfers in Emerging Markets

Beyond transfer volume, Tron continues to strengthen its role in the global stablecoin ecosystem. According to a recent report by Artemis, Tron has become the top blockchain for value-based stablecoin settlements, surpassing even Ethereum. Polygon and Binance Smart Chain follow behind.

In Latin America, Tron dominates stablecoin transactions, particularly in Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil. Similarly, in Africa, Tron leads the market in six out of ten surveyed countries, including Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mauritius, Morocco, and Seychelles—often outperforming Ethereum in volume and usage.
