Emin Gün Sirer, the CEO of Ava Labs — host company of Avalanche (AVAX) — has dismissed claims from a recent CopyLeaks report that made several brow-raising accusations about the company.

The CopyLeaks report alleged that Ava Labs entered a contract with law firm Roche Freedman, which saw Ava Labs handing out its stock and native cryptocurrencies in exchange for the law firm to hound legal actions against crypto companies.

Emin Gün Sirer took to Twitter on Sunday to dismiss the claims from CopyLeaks, calling the report “conspiracy theory nonsense” and “inflammatory.”

The CopyLeaks Accusation on Ava Labs

The accusatory report claimed that Roche Freedman “widely sues people in crypto, currently running at least 25 class actions.” The report further highlighted cases against Binance, Solana Labs, and Dfinity Foundation.

CopyLeaks also claimed that the law firm has been “operating according to an extraordinary secret pact that harms the crypto industry, and has a nature so perverse that it undermines the integrity of the American legal system.” The report alleged that Ava Labs agreed to part with hundreds of millions of dollars worth of company stocks and AVAX tokens so Roche Freedman can “pursue a hidden purpose” on its behalf.

To back its claims, CopyLeaks included videos in its reports. CopyLeaks also noted that Roche Freeman and Kyle Roche perpetrated the following:

“[used] the American legal system – gangster style – to attack and harm crypto organizations and projects that might compete with Ava Labs or Avalanche in some way, 2) sue crypto industry actors generally with the aim of creating magnets for regulators such as the SEC and CFTC that distract them from the highly commercial nature of Ava Labs and the Avalanche blockchain, and 3) secretly pursue Emin Gün Sirer’s personal vendettas against individuals.”

Reactions have trailed the report since its release, with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao noting: “This is wild. Not sure if this is true, but assuming the videos are not deep fake. And, of course, #binance was a target. We are not even a competitor.”
