Pump.fun, the popular meme coin launchpad built on Solana, has taken the crypto world by storm after raising $600 million in just 12 minutes through its PUMP token initial coin offering (ICO). This public sale followed a private round in which 18% of tokens were sold to institutional investors, bringing total pre-launch funding to over $1 billion. Strong Global Demand Despite Regulatory Limits

The ICO was hosted on major platforms including Bybit, Kraken, and Pump.fun’s native site. Due to regulatory concerns, U.S. and U.K. residents were excluded, shifting investor interest toward Asia and Europe. Buyers were capped at $1 million per wallet, but demand far outpaced supply, with pre-sale trading on Hyperliquid showing premiums of 40% above the token’s ICO price.

All PUMP tokens unlocked at launch, and trading is set to begin by July 18. With the recent acquisition of wallet tracking tool Kolscan, Pump.fun is aiming to supercharge its ecosystem and cement its role in the meme coin space.
