Ethereum Moves Forward with Fusaka Hard Fork
Ethereum core developers have set November as the tentative launch window for the Fusaka hard fork. This upgrade aims to enhance network efficiency and scalability through 11 key Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs).
The next Fusaka development network (devnet) goes live this Wednesday. Public testnets will follow in late September and October, with the mainnet activation expected in early November.
Ethereum Developers Finalize Glamsterdam Features
Ethereum’s subsequent upgrade, Glamsterdam, will confirm its feature set on August 1. Slated for 2026, this hard fork may introduce faster block times and increased gas limits.
The rapid upgrade cycle continues, with Fusaka arriving just six months after Pectra. ETH remains focused on scalability, security, and improved user experience.
Ethereum’s next major upgrade, Fusaka, is starting to take shape.

Ethereum’s Fusaka Brings Key Network Improvements
ETH will implement EIP-7825 in Fusaka, strengthening defenses against attacks while boosting scalability. Developers also propose raising the gas limit to 150 million.
To streamline testing, EIP-7907—which would expand contract code limits—has been deferred. The controversial EVM Object Format (EOF) upgrade remains excluded from this release.
Ethereum Faces Tight Development Timeline
Ethereum protocol supporters stress the need for swift progress. Developer Nixo warned that meeting the November deadline requires accelerated client releases.
“If we want to ship by Devconnect, we need our timeline TIGHT,” Nixo stated. ETH’s Devconnect conference runs November 17–22 in Buenos Aires.
ETH Explores Faster Blocks and Higher Gas Limits
ETH developer Barnabé Monnot advocates reducing block times from 12 to 6 seconds, potentially improving DeFi performance. If approved, this change would debut in Glamsterdam.
Meanwhile, validators show growing support for increasing the gas limit to 45 million. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin noted that nearly 50% of stakers back this proposal.
Ethereum Continues Its Evolution
ETH remains committed to regular, impactful upgrades. With Fusaka and Glamsterdam, the network further solidifies its position as a leader in blockchain innovation.
Developers prioritize timely enhancements, ensuring Ethereum stays at the forefront of decentralized technology.
